Floating Support

Friary Drop In now operates a Floating Support service in the City of Nottingham. It is very similar to the old Tenancy Support service but with a few changes and improvements.

The floating support service is now part of Key Support, a consortium of organisations offering floating support services to residents living in the City of  Nottingham.

What is Floating Support?

Floating support is a free service for people who are struggling to remain in their own homes. Its aim is to enable people to live as independently as possible. It is available to single people, couples and families from all communities, including people with mental health, alcohol or drug problems.

So how can it help?

Floating support can provide help and advice in a lot of different areas, including:

·        Rent/mortgage arrears and evictions

·        Benefits, budgeting and debt

·        Finding and setting up a new home

·        Accessing local services

·        Linking in with specialist support

·        Training, education and employment

So how does it work?

If you are accepted for support you will be allocated a support worker who will work with you to identify and overcome any issues you have that are putting your home at risk. When you and your support worker agree that you no longer need support, it will go to someone else who needs it. But if you feel you need advice again in the future, you can get in touch again.
